Who is eligible

British national of Bangladesh origin their children and eligible persons living in the following areas may apply for NVR to the Assistant High Commission for Bangladesh in Birmingham. 


Midlands: 

Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, West Midlands, Leicestershire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Hereford and Worchester, Salop, Gloucestershire. 

 

South Wales: 

Cardiff, Newport, Swansea, Powys, Mid Glamorgan, South Glamorgan, Dyfed, Gwent. 


Document Requirements

The following documents are required at the time of submission of your application:

  1. Duly filled application form.

  2. Passport (with at least six months of validity).

  3. Proof of address in the UK (parent's proof of address for applicants below 18 years).

  4. A passport-size photo.

  5. And one of the following documents (original and photocopy).

  • Bangladesh passport (any mismatch in Bangladesh passport and submitted passport must be supported by name change deed duly legalized by Foreign and Commonwealth Office, UK).

  • Bangladesh Citizenship Certificate (issued by MOHA, Dhaka and attested by MOFA, Dhaka).

  • 17 Digit Online Birth Certificate (issued by a competent authority of Bangladesh).

  • Education Certificate (issued by any Board/University of Bangladesh and attested by MOFA, Dhaka

  • Previous passport having "No Visa Required stamp/sticker (any mismatch in Bangladesh passport and submitted passports must be supported by name change deed duly legalize by Foreign and Commonwealth Office, UK).


Applying for the first time with parent's reference:

  1. Duly filled Application form. 

  2. Passport (with at least six months of validity).

  3. A passport-size photo.

  4. Full version Birth Certificate. (in original and a photocopy; having parent's name on it).

  5. Father's/Mother's Bangladesh Passport or passport of another country with "No Visa Required" stamp /sticker on it. 

  6. Proof of address in the UK (parent's proof of address for applicants below 18 years). 

Please Note: Names of the children and their parents printed in the passports must match with those in the birth certificates of the children. Any mismatch must be supported by a name change deed duly legalized by Foreign and Commonwealth Office, UK.


Applying for the first time with spouse's reference:

  1. Duly filled Application form. 

  2. Passport (with at least six months of validity).

  3. A passport-size photo.

  4. UK Marriage Certificate legalised by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

  5. Spouse's valid Bangladesh passport. 

  6. Proof of address in the UK .


Application Fee & Payment Method

  • Postal Order Payable to “ Bangladesh Assistant High Commission, Birmingham”  or via telephone by debit card to receive services by post.

  • Payment by debit card over the counter.

  • Application Fee (Non-Refundable): £46.00. 


How to Apply

Applying in person

  • Fill up the application form online or download the form and fill it up.

  • Submit the application with required documents and pay the fees of £46.00 with debit card on any working day from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm from Monday to Friday except Holidays.


Applying by post

  • Fill up the application form online or download the form and fill it up.

  • Post the application with required documents and a £46.00 postal order payable to Bangladesh Assistant High Commission, Birmingham.

  • Please send a prepaid self-addressed special delivery envelope along with your application when you would like to receive your passport by post.
