British nationals of Bangladesh origin their children and eligible persons living in the following areas may apply for NVR to the Assistant High Commission for Bangladesh in Birmingham:
Midlands: Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, West Midlands, Leicestershire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Hereford and Worchester, Salop, Gloucestershire.
South Wales: Cardiff, Newport, Swansea, Powys, Mid Glamorgan, South Glamorgan, Dyfed, Gwent.
Four easy steps to obtain NVR:
- Complete and take a printout of the online application form.
- Book an appointment to visit the Assistant High Commission in Birmingham.
- Submit your application form with all the supporting documents on the appointment date.
- Collect your documents on the given date.

Additional requirements based on how you qualify:
- Bangladeshi origin: One of the following:
- Bangladeshi passport (or old passport with NVR stamp)
- Bangladesh Citizenship Certificate
- Online birth certificate (17-digit)
- Education certificate issued in Bangladesh.
- Applying as a child of a Bangladeshi Citizen:
- Your birth certificate showing parent's name.
- Your parent's Bangladeshi passport or passport with NVR stamp
- Applying as the spouse of Bangladeshi Citizen:
- UK marriage certificate Legalized by the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO).
- DBS certificate (police background check).
- Spouse's valid Bangladesh passport.
Please note: Any name change must be supported by a name change deed attested by the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO).
