  বাংলাদেশ নির্বাচন কমিশন গত ১৫ নভেম্বর ২০২৩ তারিখে দ্বাদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনের সময়সূচীর তফশিল ঘোষণা করেছে। উক্ত সময়সূচীর আলোকে আগামী ০৭ জানুয়ারি ২০২৪ তারিখে দ্বাদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। গণপ্রতিনিধিত্ব আদেশ, ১৯৭২ এর ২৭ অনুচ্ছেদ অনুসারে জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে বিদেশে বসবাসরত বাংলাদেশি নাগরিকদের ডাকযোগে পোস্টাল ব্যালটের মাধ্যমে তাদের নিজ নিজ নির্বাচনী এলাকায় ভোটাধিকার প্রয়োগের বিধান রয়েছে। আগ্রহী নাগরিকগণকে ভোটদানের জন্য নির্বাচন কমিশন কর্তৃক নির্বাচনী সময়সূচির তফশিল ঘোষণার দিন হতে ১৫ (পনের) দিনের মধ্যে পোস্টাল ব্যালটের মাধ্যমে ভোটদানের জন্য সংশ্লিষ্ট রিটার্নিং অফিসারের নিকট আবেদনের মাধ্যমে “নির্বাচন পরিচালনা বিধিমালা ২০০৮” এর ১১ থেকে ১৫ নং বিধি অনুসরণ করে তাদের ভোটাধিকার প্রয়োগ করতে পারবেন। নির্বাচন কমিশনের ওয়েবসাইটের “নির্বাচনী আইন” ট্যাবে “নির্বাচন পরিচালনা বিধিমালা ২০০৮” টি পাওয়া যাবে।

Further to this Mission's Public Notice Issued on 17 November 2023, voters having Bangladeshi NID can apply to the Returning Officer on a white paper with the details (Bangladeshi address and NID number, current place of residence abroad) for postal ballot, The Returning Officer will o the needful as per the provision of the law.

  A voter's application is required to include his/her voter serial number in the voter roll. This serial number in the voters roll can be found in the 'Smart Election Management BD' app (screenshots enclosed) launched by Bangladesh Election Commission.
